Both men and women have been poorly served by the gender socialization they have received, Men have been encouraged to be more overt with their anger. That's why when boys have a conflict on the playground, they act it out with their fists. For girls, acting out in that way is not encouraged. Women usually receive the message that anger is unpleasant and unfeminine. Therefore, their anger may be misdirected in passive-aggressive maneuvers such as sulking or destructive gossip.

Mind is a double edged sword. It has immense power and it is capable of accomplishing both useful and destructive feats.

They both play with the same kind of anger, not anger, but an edge to them. They both want to be great, not good, great. They may make one or two mistakes, but then they buckle down and make sure they won't make the same mistake again.

Anger is meant to be acted on. It is not meant to be acted out. Anger points the direction. We are meant to use anger as fuel to take the actions we need to move where our anger points us. With a little thought, we can usually translate the message that our anger is sending us.

Anger can sometimes be adaptive. We're showing for the first time that when you are in a situation that is maddening and in which anger or indignation are justifiable responses, anger is not bad for you.
