You saw what he's done - he hits the ball to left field, he hits the ball to right field. How do you defend him? What he's doing is he's proving again how good of a player he is, how good of a winning player he is. Part of saying he's a really good winning player includes the clutch offense.

They stayed away from me pretty much the whole series. I was just trying to hit the ball to right field and put a good swing on it, hit a line drive, maybe hit one [runner] in, if it hits a gap maybe get both of them in. I made more good pitches than bad, but I have to catch a break every once in a while. A ball lands on the left-field line in the corner. A ball dribbles over the third-base bag on a ball a guy hits off the dirt. I've got to get one to go at somebody every once in a while.

I don't know if I'm going to be here by the time they build the stadium, but obviously that's a great step. This ball club is going forward, and that's very good news.

I see that he runs the ball hard and he has good vision for the cutback run. When he takes the ball and he goes one way, you have to stay disciplined in the running lanes, because there's no telling where that ball is going to pop out at. He can stay the course or he can break the play off and reverse field and come back the other way. He could go inside; he's all over the field.

I saw so many positives out there tonight. And Louisburg is a good ball club, and I think we are a good ball club. The atmosphere was great and the stadium is great, but my focus was on the kids. We are going to see it on tape, and we'll get it fixed.

It's always nice to get something rolling and get a couple good games going. The season's very early and I've got a lot more at-bats in front of me. I'm going to go through hot streaks and some cold streaks. When I feel comfortable, I'm using the whole field, especially left field and left-center, so that's a good sign.
