en Companies need to stop thinking in terms of one or the other. It is not a situation of either (open source) or (a commercial database). This is just plain wrong. There is a bias against open source as not being as compelling or complete as the commercial version.

en This is the storage engine, the thing that makes data always consistent, always available. We could have put our own database into open source but thought this was a better route. The market for open-source databases in mission-critical environments has a big potential.
