It was a great message; we needed to hear it. I think each coach has his own way of getting through to the kids. I tell my players to make decisions as if I was standing right behind them. And if they need to stop and think about a situation, they should already know the answer.

Everyone can make their own decisions about what's going on. It's not for players to answer. It's just a tough situation right now.

It is great to be in a situation in which you have great players. You find out pretty early in this business that without good players you will not be a good coach. I have been fortunate to be in a very good situation. My job as a coach is to make sure that we progress every year and we can be a championship contender.

I couldn't do much as a coach. I just had to let the kids play. The kids did it. Players make coaches look good and we've got some great players. They pulled it out. I'm so proud of my team.

This isn't a one-or-the-other situation. We are going to make decisions that make our team better. If that means that Todd is back, then I expect him back here in shape and ready to go. I don't know how great a coach I am but I have great players. I try to make it as fun and easy for the kids as I can. I'm a competitor, though. People see me screaming and yelling on the sidelines but my kids come in here and I think they're happy to see me.

Both teams had to make critical plays defensively. Obviously, Kelly Labor's a great player, but they have other great players - Ann Barney and some of those kids. We didn't want to end up in a 1-on-1 situation. We always had players sliding across.

They could have heroes like Rebecca Lobo and those other great UConn players. They wanted to be like them. As a coach you just give them the skills needed for the opportunity to make it some day.

I'm kind of relieved it's all over so I can concentrate on my job here. I'm in a great situation. At the end of the day it was a great experience for me. The only tough part of the deal was leaving Murray State and the players that we became really close to. Not being named the head coach - it's not like I'm beating myself up. They're great kids and I feel fortunate to have been able to coach them. Not only are they good basketball players, they're great kids and they deserve everything that they've gotten. They all had different roles on the team but no one person's role was more important than the others.
