I have mixed feelings ordspråk

en I have mixed feelings about the whole thing. While I believe firmly in accountability and holding kids accountable for learning, I also know, a lot of times, our education system has not provided the kinds of educational opportunities kids need.

en Special education kids are always going to struggle with that accountability piece because special education kids are in the program because they have learning disabilities,

en I found that I was not effective at holding myself accountable. When you're in business you know what needs to be done. You have your goals in front of you and 99 percent of the time you know how to do it. Accountability is usually the missing piece. It's so easy to get caught up in the minutia of your day and the mundane things that have to be done. Holding yourself accountable for the things that need to be done is a challenge.

en I'm not racist, and I'll put my record up against theirs, ... I've been a champion of the real civil rights issue of our times -- equal educational opportunities for kids.

en Neither the current quality assurance program nor the research systems have served any type of diagnostic function whatsoever. The accountability system is not holding programs accountable, and it's really more damning than that.

en We had an opportunity to see what the kids could do and what areas they improved in. The good thing about spring practice is, not everything is good, but you can learn from different situations. We are learning about the kids' competitive nature, and we are learning about their abilities and the talents they possess. Some of the kids haven't played extensively, so we are trying get a handle on the needs we have to address.

en All kids deserve an opportunity. We're not accountable for where we're born into, but we are accountable for the opportunities we can provide for others. All parents, private as well as public, they all have a stake in this.

en I'm impressed with the Federal Way School District. They had disparities so extreme in their system they were forced to come up with a solution to address it. They are holding the teachers accountable. So many school districts put the burden of responsibility on the parents and the kids.

en The coaches do a far better job now of preaching about how to avoid skin disorders. We were learning as we were going back then. We had all kinds of pills for kids to take. But some kids who were in contact were wrestling. It really hurt the sport.

en It is such a learning experience for the kids - and for us, too. This is our first year doing this. It is so interesting, ... The nice thing is that you don't have to live in the country to do this. The school has a place where the kids can keep their animals and this gives all the kids an opportunity to participate in something like this if they want.

The picture deals with the problems of modern youth. It is the romanticized conception of the juvenile that causes much of our trouble with misguided youth nowadays. I think the one thing this picture shows that's new is the psychological disproportion of the kids' demands on the parents. Parents are often at fault, but the kids have some work to do, too. But you can't show some far off idyllic conception of behavior if you want the kids to come and see the picture. You've got to show what it's really like, and try to reach them on their own grounds. You know, a lot of times an older boy, one of the fellows the young ones idolize, can go back to the high school kids and tell them, "Look what happened to me! Why be a punk and get in trouble with the law? Why do these senseless things just for a thrill?" I hope "Rebel Without A Cause" will do something like that. I hope it will remind them that other people have feelings. Perhaps they will say, "What do we need all that for?" If a picture is psychologically motivated, if there is truth in the relationship in it, then I think that picture will do good.
I firmly believe Rebel Without A Cause is such a picture.

en If you voluntarily label a product as being unsuitable for kids and then turn around and market it directly to kids in contradiction of your ratings system, then you should be held accountable just like any other company in America that misleads consumers, ... That's not censorship. That's common sense.
