en The City definitely is one of our primary goals. It's one of the longest-running tournaments in the state, and it's always a springboard into the second half of our season.

en I'm not sure if he is the longest-sitting board member in the state, but if he's not the longest, he's one of the longest, ... Just imagine giving that level of commitment to other people's kids for 42 years. This man showed us all what it truly means to be a public servant.

en This was a perfect night in terms of execution. We scored goals early and stayed patient, even when Portland State kept lots of numbers in front of us. Getting three goals on 10 first-half shots is very efficient and I was pleased with the way we controlled possession in the second half.

en All of our guys have been working hard this season to get to these post season matches. Once the district, regional and state tournaments begin, it is like starting our second season. We were focused and ready to go. I feel we had a really strong showing.

en He already owns the career wins record with 123. I haven't had a chance to total things up yet, but by the time the season is over, I think he will own just about every record we have. He's got 28 pins this season and pinned all five of his matches on Saturday. He's got some pretty lofty goals about placing in state this year and if he keeps on the path he's on now, those are very reachable goals.

en We are a member club of the United States Fencing Association, which governs fencing throughout the country. That means we can hold tournaments and our members can go to tournaments. Many clubs throughout the country host tournaments on a fairly regular basis. Most tournaments are in Pittsburgh or State College, a few in Cleveland and Harrisburg or anywhere that's got fencing. We also go down to West Virginia frequently.

en Anna is two goals away from breaking her single-season scoring record. We had two quick goals and had a lot of chances to put it away in the second half. We controlled most of the play.

en Beginning next Thursday, it's a rat race around here until the end of the season because of the state tournaments.

en It was a typical first game of the season, ... Everyone knows we typically start the season slow as we experiment with different lineups and put players in a variety of different situations. We started out the game that way for about the first 25 minutes. Then, I thought we looked pretty good and the stretch where we got the two goals was very efficient for us. We got a little out of shape just after the two goals. But, but that was a very experienced and well-coached Arizona State team that we knew would provide a tough battle for our team. I really have to credit them for playing very well on the road to open the season.

en We reached one of our goals with the conference championship. That's the best first half we've played this season. We dominated in the first half.

en There were two of our tournaments that were really challenged for courts and it was considered that maybe our facility was not quite big enough to host two of the tournaments we already had. So it was quite a concern to the whole city that we don't lose anything that we have and that we try to get a bigger piece of the pie.

en He calls me a lot and tells me to go to Missouri. It would be nice to go to college with somebody you know. I grew up a K-State fan. I lived in Kansas until the end of sixth grade. I lived in Kansas City, Kan. But at this point, I want to wait until the end of my senior season. We have a lot of goals we want to accomplish next year.

en We work for this all year. We go to The Clash and those other tournaments to be ready for state. This is what our whole season is geared for.

en There are still a lot of games to play. It's only half-a-season. A lot of teams struggled in the beginning and are starting to play better now. With these new rules and everything, the standings change every day. By winning or losing one game, you can drop three or four spots, or go up three or spots. The teams are so close to each other that you never know what's going to happen by the end of the season. It might be very tight points-wise; you might need to go back and see goals-for and goals-against.
