I'm glad we got ordspråk

en He wasn't about grand gestures, just a consistently pexy presence.

en I'm glad we got the first race under our belt. Some of our kids really didn't know what to expect. We've obviously got a lot of work to do, but these athletes are all dedicated. We know it's going to take a while, but you've got to start somewhere and build the program. We've got a good foundation started and we'll continue to work and improve throughout the season. Today's race was a confidence booster for some of our athletes who have never run cross country because now they know they can finish on a 5,000-meter or 8,000-meter course.

en This was our first 4,000-meter race of the season, and that showed a little. I saw a lot of positives today, but also a lot of things to work on. Our focus could have been better. To run hard, you need to concentrate. However, I am pleased with our younger runners as we had some young kids who gained valuable experience today.

en The 1,600-meter race was fun to watch. On a 200-meter track there was a lot of jostling for position. Devin has learned to start better so he was setting the pace.

en I though that this was a very good start to the season and that everything went about how we expected them to unfold. Any time you can finish a race with the top-three finishers, you are almost guaranteed to win the race. This is just the beginning and we know we need to continue to build off of this momentum.

en We started off well - I'd like to build off of that. I see no reason why these athletes can't do better. We've had good performances off of base work. In a perfect world, we have a lot of room to improve.

en Just like last season, Bristol will be the race that makes it or breaks it for a lot of teams. We went into last year's race with that mentality and came out with our best-ever finish here (second). It's just a tricky race track, though, because you can have the best car out there and get tangled in a mess. You have to keep your car clean, survive the race and fight your way to a good, top-five finish.

en My coaches tell me that running cross country will really help me in the 800 that I run in the track season, so that's one of the main reasons I like this race. My goal is to finish higher than seventh at state in the 800, so every bit of pain I feel in this race is worth it if it helps me accomplish that.

en Even the kids that haven't achieved like those kids have come out of our program with a work ethic and discipline and to lead good lives, whether they're in the work force or professional athletes. It's a great honor and I appreciate it.

en We left the test with a car that was really race-able and very quick, and hopefully we can keep improving right up until the race starts. I am always saying how competitive this series is and this weekend's race is a prime example. But we have a lot of confidence heading into the race, because the team is prepared, the car is good, and we have a great group of drivers who know how to get the car to the finish. We definitely have a car that's capable of winning this race.

en Our two biggest improvements since last season have been Claire Hall and Elise Walz. Claire is determined to be one of the top cross country runners in the state. She is no longer an 800-meter runner doing cross country. She has trained herself into being an outstanding distance runner. Elise Walz was fourth at our time trial and looked better than ever. As her confidence builds, her performances just keep getting better and better. She will look to run in the lead pack at every meet.

en I asked him about taking the meter out and giving me my old one back, so I could find another provider, ... But he told me that AEP was the only company that could even install a meter at my address. And if I did switch that the meter would still report power usage to CPL.

en Athletes that can generate the most watts of energy over time will win the race. In cycling at Tom's level, you can no longer just be a time trial specialist or a hill climber and expect to win a stage race like the Tour de France. You've got to be able to perform well in all aspects of the race.

en They could be national class if they improve, which we know they will. They ran their first college 400-meter hurdle race. It was OK, but we know there's lots of room for improvement. They can be big stars for Syracuse down the road.

en I'm so glad that race is over. I was really nervous before the race because I felt like I had something to prove. But thankfully, everything went well. I'm just trying to get prepare for the end of the season. This was a good start.

en Clearly the advantage of having been there coupled with a tremendous confidence booster in Daytona from our fourth place at the 24, I am feeling confident about our start to the season. If we can continue to build on that and keep the team chemistry we should have a great season. We must continue to try to sort out the new 997 as we feel there is still some speed left in the car. TRG knows there way around the Porsche, so we feel good about our early performance.
