I think right now, we are playing well. Defensively, our intensity has stepped up. The energy and effort we are giving is more important than the wins. I think we are figuring out now that we have to go out and play tough for 40 minutes.

It is one and done. It is your mind-set going into the game that allows you to either play free or play tight. We are excited about playing (San Diego State) and we just need to come out and play our style of play.

This was probably his best game. He had seven offensive boards. He didn't commit any serious fouls ... That's the player we need for us to be a good basketball team.

I probably should have stepped down a little earlier. Our guys' minds were just gone because what you have to understand is they care about me ... Sometimes when you're playing to try and keep someone's job, you have a tendency not to do anything.

We feel good. (The players) are over everything now, and there's no more uncertainty in the air about anything. We're just relaxing and playing.

Every game this year I've been batting 3-for-4 or 4-for-4 and scoring runs, doing whatever I can to try to win. We have a team this year that I think can go to states. It takes a whole team to do it and I'm trying to do my part.

Right now I'm just trying to let my bat talk for me. With my arm I'm still making plays. I still do what I got to do, but I'm just not pitching this year.

The sixth seed was great. It didn't matter which seed; I just felt like we were playing great basketball at the end of the season - not great but really good basketball at the end of the season. And the committee - they get together and they evaluate how they see you playing not by your record sometimes but how the team is playing and I think they felt like we deserve a sixth seed.

We knew we'd probably be out on the west coast. I don't think it'll affect us at all.

If our guys don't come out and play now, it's not a championship-type of team. I feel good about this basketball team.

You don't have to know a lot about basketball to know who I am. For me, as a coach, that should help.

It didn't cross my mind about this being my last game. All I was thinking about was making sure my guys fought to the end.

We've been in a situation the last three weeks where if we lose, we are probably out of the tournament. That situation has really helped us. We showed a lot of character and kept going and going and going.

Our defensive intensity has stepped up. The attitude about it has been good.

It hasn't been a weight off my shoulders; it's a weight off of (the players' shoulders). To see them play under the pressure they had played under, and now to see them having fun and enjoy practice and enjoy the game, that has been a treat for me to see.
