We miss those guys, but hey, we've got to do it with the team we have here. We're pretty confident in ourselves that we can do a good job. We have a pretty good team.

It's amazing. I think you guys have a good taste of how crazy they are down in the Dominican. This is real big for our country.

It's pretty tough for the Dominican to put a team together because it's a third-world country, really poor, and sometimes it's pretty tough to even get David Ortiz or myself to represent in the Caribbean Series, which is a big deal. Sometimes you don't get permission from the organization. Our job is here [in U.S].

Our job is trying to get ready for the season, but we want to win this tournament and represent our country well.

Everybody is saying - and we are saying - that they have a pretty good team. But we have a pretty good team, too.

It's been a great experience so far and some guys are so excited that they're saying we should play this ever year. I think this is going to be a great tournament and there won't be any negatives about it. More guys will want to play in it next time and it will keep getting bigger.

You saw the fans today, they were excited. They were talking trash back and forth. It was beautiful. I felt chills.

We have been reacting well. It doesn't matter if a guy's making $500,000 or $10 million or $5 million. Everybody is the same, and we know that we are here to win games and to represent our country.

I don't think our bats responded the way they were supposed to respond. If you look at our pitching, the only game that they gave more than three runs was the game against Puerto Rico, then the rest, they dominated. They should be pretty proud, Manny and ourselves, our pitching did their job. We just didn't find the offense.

That's the way it goes. There is no more talking, no more excuses. They played good baseball and beat us.

They pitched well. You look at our lineup, it's not (easy) to pitch that well ... but that's the way it goes.
