He was good down the stretch. He made some tremendous plays for us on both ends of the floor.

I think it's probable, not possible, probable if you look at he overall picture.

I don't take any solace in losing the game by two or 22, we lost the game. The standard at Cincinnati has not slipped to the point where we will get any gratification out of moral victories. I said that early, I'll say that late. If this team does not make the NCAA tournament, I will feel as if we've failed, I will feel as if I've failed.

In life when you get an opportunity you have to take advantage of it. And I felt as if we did not do enough to take advantage of our opportunity. I'm disappointed for our kids, not in our kids.

We'll continue to be the same team. I don't have any doubt about that. We will hurt from this, we will regroup, and we will go and take on our next challenge.

I can't go crazy. I can't do anything to hurt our team. I can't get away with what a more established coach can, and I shouldn't be able to. I have to earn my stripes.

I do think this league ... will legitimately have an opportunity for eight to nine or 10 bids.

That was our Super Bowl.

I thought it took a lot of courage for coach to come. It shows you what kind of man he is. It's a tribute to these seniors. They wanted him to come. I thought it was fitting going against his alma mater in a game that decided our season.

I think he's exceeded expectations when you look at what he's done. But it's unfair that we've had to be so dependent upon him. When he plays well, we're a tough out. When he does not play well, which happens as a freshman, we struggle.

I thought he gave us the best chance to be successful. ... We were hoping the learning curve would be a little shorter for him than it is for most freshmen, and that's proven to be the case.

We needed him to step up. He and Eric (Hicks), out of our core, played really well (against Villanova). We didn't get production we needed out of a couple of guys. We were fortunate to be in it down the stretch. It's been different guys on different nights. We've had some guys be more consistent.

I knew coming into this year that the difference between finishing third and finishing eighth was going to be a bad weekend. I think that's playing out.

We're going in there on Senior Night and a must-win situation for them. We have more work that has to be done. We have two opportunities plus the conference tournament to get that done.

We were up five or six and then there was that sense of urgency that seniors feel and Copeland and Whitney stepped up. We always seemed to be a step late going for loose balls and then they started attacking us and had us on our heels.
