The goal was just to qualify and it was pretty easy to qualify.

We did a good job of picking up the pieces. I think we proved we can both fight with the best. Initially, I admit, it was a real disappointment. But we came back and I'm looking forward to moving on and trying to win another one.

I did have a brief flash of 'Oh no, not now, not here.' In a way it was a huge setback. It meant a little extra double poling for me at the start of my leg. But fortunately ... it wasn't insurmountable.

I don't think we can say that for sure. Maybe the superhuman effort I had to come up with to get back took away something extra I might have had left in my tank at the end.

For Sara and I to do this together is amazing. We've been together since we were 15 years old. It was ski selection. It was partly wax. We made some last-minute adjustments to the skis. I know that happened partly in panic.

I still think I have a chance for one more medal here.

I wanted to be on the podium. That's what I was going for and I missed it. This has happened a few times in the past. I've been fourth at a world championships. It's a hard place to be, I'll admit it. I'll live.

To do well here is such a great feeling. It's been quite a tough schedule lately with three races in three days, but I can really feel my pacing coming back. I feel like I'm getting better with every race.

To be able to finish your career either first or second in the world would be a pretty remarkable achievement.

I'm ready for some sushi and then a party. This is the way I wanted to finish. It was important for me to finish on top.

I'm very happy with the victory, I was hoping to win today's race. But it's a bit sad to say goodbye. I would have liked the World title but I did all I could today and during the season.
