Mason is off to its second-best start in school history and that says a lot. That's how good they are and that's how good they can be. We have to play better than we did the last time to have a chance [Saturday].

Some of our older, better players didn't have banner games. Maybe I could have done a better job. We'll take this one on the chin and kind of get past it in one respect and learn from it in other respects.

I don't think the story of the game should be what we didn't do but what they did do.

He played a heavy dose of minutes (30) at George Mason but he was a step and a half (slow) and really had a hard time. He felt bad about it, but that was his pride as being a competitor. We'll manage it as the season goes along, but it certainly will inhibit his rhythm a little bit and our ability to blend him in with the team.

This is one of the best league races around. Our league race is a dandy, as good as any league in the country.

We're rallying with one another to get the job done. We know we're fighting a battle here at the end of the year to get the most out of the season.

You just don't know what you're going to get when you wake up in the morning or turn the light off at night. The thing that we're so blessed with is that Brandon's OK. When you see something like this and you see how close it could have been to a different outcome, it makes you realize that you can't hold life too tight or too light.

With half of the conference season finished, it's anyone's ballgame.

We were good in all areas in the second half. When we're moving the ball, there's more of a semblance of order out there. When we got anxious, that fit into the frenetic pace they wanted. We don't mind playing fast, but we do like it to happen in an orderly fashion.

It's not like I'm trying to be coy and he's out running wind sprints behind the building right now. We just don't know how the foot is going to feel from day to day. We're going to be conscious of how many weeks are left in the season and what lays out there for us as a possibility.

That all goes back to his family roots. What his family went through to get to the United States, what they went through to get the opportunities they have now, it really makes you understand why he doesn't let obstacles get him down.

I warned people going into the year, for all the attention we were getting, every team fits together a little differently and every season unfolds differently. A year ago, we enjoyed tremendous health and tremendous luck. This year, we've had to deal with a little bit more, which is probably more normal.

Could we figure into the mix? Yeah, we could. But I think we've got work left to do.

I don't understand not being able to make free throws.

I think he gives their team confidence. I think the fact that he's out there and he can draw fouls and he can get to the paint and he can create, and I think it gives their team confidence that he makes plays.
