The way things were going, no one was gonna score too many, ... I managed to keep them off the board long enough for Tracy to come through.

I was just trying to keep them off the board until Tracy came through and hit the home run.

Those were big double plays, ... Jeff Kent was coming up next, and it's good to have nobody on base whenever he's up. It was a pitcher's duel for a while, and I was just trying to keep them off the board - because the way the game was going, there weren't going to be too many runs scored either way.

Oh, yeah. We've been playing the best we have all year pitching-wise, hitting-wise and putting enough on the board to win. We rolled off seven in a row and won 10 out of 11.

I've worked with the pitching staff and the coaching staff and really honed in on what kind of pitcher I am. I just feel I can progress every year and get better.

I'm ready to take the challenge on. I'm excited to get that opportunity to start on Opening Day.

I go out there and pitch my game and try to get ground balls. I don't really think too much into it. Obviously, I don't want the pressure of thinking I'm the No. 1. I do recognize it, but thinking about it just adds pressure to me that I don't need. I think I'm up to the challenge.

It starts off with 100 throws a day, which is a lot more than I was used to. I did that last year and I think that helped me toward the end of the year, [to] still feel strong. I'm doing the exact same thing this year.

Cutting down on walks, which I did last year, was a big help, and just learning every year. I just feel I can progress every year and get better.

I like it. It's going to be a little bit different last year and obviously what it was the last couple of years. But I'm excited to get it started with these guys. I'm anxious to see how we mesh together. We had a real good staff last year that got along real well.

It's probably the most casual day of spring training. But after that, the real thing starts.

There are a lot of guys battling for that last spot and that's how it's been the last few years. There are many guys that are well-qualified to fit that role. I think it should be a strength for us.

I'm very excited about that, no doubt. Losing Royce (Clayton) was a loss. I liked having him behind me at short with that defense of his. But Orlando is going to be as good, if not better, than what we had last year.
