I thought our kids played as hard as they could play. We had the game won several times; Eureka had the game won several times. We left everything on the floor. We didn't get the win; we've been snake bit for the last two weeks now. You just needed the one break and we didn't get it.

If you commit six turnovers you should have won the basketball game.

For these kids it was huge. We've had it broken several times and somehow, we get our hearts broken, but these kids have kept a good attitude and I'm really proud of them. It was a good win.

Our ball movement wasn't good, and that's a credit to Quincy Notre Dame. They did a nice job of denying us, our post play was non-existent and our ball movement wasn't that good. Our shooting was worse.

We didn't have a single stop or rebound in the first quarter. We changed our defense, did a good job of staying in front of the ball and were able to stop their penetration in the second quarter. Our first substitution rotation seemed to help as well.

It's always nice to get a win on Senior Night. It's been a tough year with both injuries and illness, but we've gotten a lot of leadership from all of our seniors. Matt Anderson has been a big for us coming back from a broken foot. Tyler McNeely (senior No. 4) was there for us all year until he broke his wrist. We'll miss all of them.

The call that always seemed the toughest to me was the slide and tag play at second. You can see it coming, but you don't know which way the runner is going to slide, where the throw is going to be, and how the fielder is going to take the throw.

When it was time for a player to go, he went.

Boys, I'm one of those umpires that misses 'em every once in a while so if it's close, you'd better hit it.

I don't talk about winning nine straight. All I talk to the kids about is trying to get over their bad shots, putting them behind quickly and keeping on an even keel emotionally. We're not as strong mentally as we need to be to play when the rain is coming sideways and it's cold, but we're pretty far along.

All the rest of the girls are within two shots of each other, ... We've got pretty good depth.
