After having a weekend to think it over, [Friday's trading session] didn't erase all the uncertainty that's out there.

Even before (Thursday) most of the buying was focused on the Nasdaq,

All the recent data are sending signals that the Fed doesn't need to raise rates anymore,

If we get this trend and in fact we're seeing a soft landing to the economy we are going to get a summer rally.

We had some real good numbers this morning.

After this week, this is to be expected, especially on a Friday ? a lot of people want to book profits ahead of the weekend.

The (earnings) numbers are good but they are not great. The atmosphere is different (this week) in that the expectations are a bit higher.

There's pretty even selling across the board. Some folks are cashing in on their gains to blue chips and are getting ready to buy Nasdaq stocks.

To me, if we get the right signal on Friday, we'll see some of that buying go into fallen angels.

We still have a non-inflationary environment. I think this is more of an oversold bounce (for the Nasdaq). We'll see what kind of leg it has.

Obviously we're getting to the point where everyone would have to agree that, on a short-term basis, the market is overdone on the downside.

I think there's a sense that a whole lot of the uncertainty, whether it's on the economic front or the electoral front, may be coming to an end. They're first sheltering themselves in blue chips and safety but, as confidence builds up, it will start to trickle down into the Nasdaq.

If you really look at the action itself, most people in the market believe the worst is over, at least on a short-term basis. There's renewed hope that the presidential election is going to come to a conclusion and everyone is hoping the Fed is going to move to a neutral stance as a prelude to a series of decreasing the interest rates.

All the focus is on the blue chips but there's renewed optimism. People are using these opportunities to buy these stocks on weakness, and what investors are starting to learn is it's a selective process. You want to participate but you want to be cautious.

I think were heading into next week with a head of steam we haven't seen for some time.
