He still has his velocity, ... His command is a big thing. He's missing with his changeup. His last two times out, he's given up home runs on high changeups. He's also having a hard time getting his breaking ball where he wants it.

I think we'll come up with what we think is best and what's going to give us the best chance of winning, ... I came here to win. I didn't take this job because someone just gave it to me. I feel like I got this job. I feel like I can go somewhere else and [bleeping] manage.

We've got five teams with 80 wins, ... Go look and see how many divisions have all 80-win teams. That means our division is the tightest and the toughest.

I was caught off guard by the move, ... I'm indebted to Ed Wade. He gave me another chance to manage and he brought me into the organization before that. I feel bad because I know that baseball is Ed's life. Nobody worked harder or longer than Ed and I feel fine saying that.

I feel bad for Ed. I feel indebted to him for giving me the chance to manage this team and for hiring me (as an advisor) when I came to Philly. I wish him nothing but good things.

For some reason, [the Mets] play real good against us, ... Their pitching holds out and they've been real trouble for us.
