There's no corners to be cut that don't cost you in the end. You've got to play the game. You've got to play a good, solid game. Anything short of our best game is trouble.

I still believe wholly that it's a product more of our undoing rather than either team taking it to us and beating us.

We see him right now as a very viable option for us in terms of helping us 5 on 4, 4 on 3 and 5 on 3 and those are going to be significant minutes in today's game.

At least we were trying in the third, which is more than I can say for the first two periods. At least we started trying. It was a pretty pathetic effort by our group.

It's a big part of the game. If you get dominated up the middle, you don't have much chance to win, and that includes face-offs. They don't get a lot of attention by people outside the game, but people inside the game, coaches, know how important they are. To start with the puck is a huge advantage in any situation.

I think that will all go away. There was a tendency to overpass early in his career, but he's making those decisions fine now. He's making good decisions. The one time I told him to shoot the puck, he feathered it over for an open-netter, so he knows what he's doing. That hasn't been an issue at camp.

It definitely opens up the ice a bit. It's definitely less congested out there.

This was certainly not one of our better efforts. We relied on being in pretty good position defensively and we got excellent goaltending.

You have to give them credit for their ability to check and they knocked us off the puck and they turned over a lot of pucks. But at the same time we were turning the pucks over and it just seems like we never settled into our game even from the outset we didn't settle into out game. But I think you give them credit for giving us a little bit of a lesson.
