If you do the math, that works out to around 4:34 or 4:35 a guy, and to have four guys that can do that right now is pretty good.

That's the thing we're most proud of is that the kids went and competed hard. We tried to get as many points as we could in a lot of events.

He really rose to the occasion. It's a big jump and it's the first time we've had a long jumper over 22 feet since Mike Price (a 1997 graduate).

They've got a nice invite-type team. They're just real deep and they have somebody in pretty much every event that can score. They're just a little deeper than us right now, but we were proud of the way the guys competed.

That win in the 400 was huge for us. He is supposed to be a distance guy, but he has a lot of range. He had a great day.

I think he came into this season as someone who flew under the radar. That certainly wasn't the case with us, but I think it was with opposing teams. He's had some nagging injuries during his career that haven't always allowed his talent to come through. This year he's built himself up and the injuries have stayed away.

We already had the team title won and we were ready to call it a night, but he went out and attacked the race. I think he was about 10 meters down with about 60 to go and he caught the kid at the finish line. I think the great thing is we're just starting to scratch the surface with his competitive spirit in races.
