Right now, I am getting used to moving with balance and power out of a two-point stance. At guard you come out of a three-point stance.

So far, so good (this spring). Each day I feel like I'm getting better.

Sloan had suggested it to me. I let Trey swing and thought it was the good time to call it.

I had ridden with them for seven or eight years and I decided it was time for a change.

I don't know, we'll have to see. Daniel's (Ramsey) riding well and we have some other good riders … I'm not as consistent — I know that. But beyond that, I don't really know. I haven't been tested on any real climbs. I'm as much of a question mark as anyone out here.

They were starting to use their speed, ... And we stopped controlling their speed.

We look at it as a good opportunity. A lot of people say, 'You guys only win because you're Class A.' We think we should be able to maybe prove them wrong and win a AA state title. Then they can't really say anything against us.

It helps a lot and feels great having him as the coach. If he sees an error in your swing, he can fix it right away. That's really the good part about it. He's been in these situations before as a coach at Austin Peay. He knows what to do and that's part of the reason we're having so much success. He's a great teacher.

We felt good coming into the season. We all felt like we'd have a good team. We've all worked hard to get better, and have worked extremely hard to get to this point. We all want our work to pay off and do well at state.

On 18 I told myself it's my senior year and my last state tournament. There's no way I'm going out without birdie.

We wanted the biggest challenge to prove to ourselves that we were the best team in the state,

We knew with New Trier and those types of teams we would have to beat them to do it. Sure enough, we got it done by one.

I told them it's only one stroke a guy. Think of it that way. If you're lucky enough to be paired with a guy from New Trier, then see if you can beat him. Other than that, know every stroke counts.

Those are the kind of opportunities you practice. It's not fun if you're coming up the 18th knowing your team is up by 40 rather than knowing your birdie could make or break the team. It was great to roll one in like that because I hadn't made anything all two days.

It's quite a long list of people. If I hadn't gone here, I would have been the black sheep. But I always wanted to go here.
