The last couple of days, we've really fallen off. We're not doing the stuff we need to do fundamentally. We don't have five guys playing together. We have five guys, but no offensive line. We'll just keep working at it until we find five who will play together.

We just had some individual mistakes across the board. We could have played a lot better fundamentally.

There are so many things, techniques and fundamentals they've got to change versus different looks and different people. The same old technique is not going to work for this play like it did for that play.

The longer we play Leon at that guard position, the better he's going to get. He's just more comfortable there. I saw him get better there (Wednesday) and I saw him get better there (Thursday). At tackle all spring, I haven't seen him get better.

We certainly didn't do enough. If we had, we'd have scored more points. The guys off the edge gave up too much heat and a few sacks.

I'm gong to keep doing that until I find the best five. I love every one of these kids. But like I told them, it's nothing personal. I'm going to find the best five. JP has some experience and if he's one of the best five, then he's going to be in there.

I did a drill that will help them become better football players. It's to let them know what I saw us not doing. That was an attention-getter. The biggest problem we had was our protection. We weren't moving our feet.

I thought Ben has gotten better and better each week. The biggest thing with Ben is just learning the basics of offensive line play. He never really played that much offensive line, but he was born to be an offensive lineman. He has a bright future in this game. He's such a good person; he works hard, and he's smart.

At tight end, you saw his quickness and that he was going to continue to gain some weight and tight end wasn't going to be his position. I've been watching him a long time long before I ever got him.

Well, he must be hurt.

Steven will get in after the first two series depending on how things are going.

I'm sure he thinks that way or he wouldn't be in coaching. I'm just kind of surprised he said it. Joe's got some things he does well and some things he needs to get better at. He's played against pretty good football players this year. I'm sure this will be another opportunity for him to get better.

He wasn't by himself. There were some other guys that had rough days.

A big part of it is our defensive ends are pretty good. I'm not so sure they're not better than what they were last year because they are improved and the speed is better. It's going to do nothing but make (Hart) better and the other tackles better.

When you're working against the best every day, that's good. When you get to a game, it might be like a day off.
