I feel for him about as much as I do myself. He's a pro. He's got a lot of pride. You could say it's one of those years it's not clicking. If you've got to win, you can't have too many days of not clicking.

Guys have off years. For his sake, you hopes it's an odd year. You suffer with him because you know how much he loves to play and what he's done in the past.

Luis has been energized leading off. He's hit the ball hard and run the bases well. [Pierre] has contributed more down there with his clutch hitting and his base running. So it has worked all the way around. Will it continue to work? Who knows? Will we go back the other way? Who knows?

We've got to get somebody to go more than two innings.

He said he's not bailing out. He wants to play, and I think it's apparent the way he played those games when he really couldn't throw from the hole.
