I'm real happy with the comeback. We got way off and a lot of it is my fault. You know, I asked the guys to make some adjustments on the car and it was totally going the wrong direction.

The way our season's gone, no matter how good we're running, no matter how bad, you just never know what's going to happen. You know, tonight is one of those nights we wanted and needed to happen.

There's always pressure on everyone. It doesn't matter if you're trying to get into the top 35 in points or just trying to make the race or make the top 10, or if you're leading the points and trying to win a championship. There's extreme pressure throughout the field. You might be in a position where you don't know if you have a ride next year, you might not have a sponsor. There's always pressure on all of us.

He wasn't real happy with me, but we finally worked it out.

The season has gone in cycles. Guys that ran really strong at the beginning of the year maybe haven't run as strong in the middle. There's no reason that cycle can't come to us as well, and I'm sure that there are teams out there that would prefer not to find out if that cycle comes our way.

Our performances haven't been as bad as our finishes. We've had several races where we were completely off on our setup, but we've had numerous situations where we ran strong during the event but didn't have the good results to show for it.

If they've already decided to move to another team, then you know where their commitments lie and where they want to be. The first thing I did was go to Rick Hendrick and tell him what I'd been approached with, what I would like to do and what my hopes were. We worked it all out, and first thing I know I'm signing a lifetime contract.

There will be a lot of pressure on all of us, but that pressure is something I feel I handle well. This DuPont team just needs to focus on what we can control and not worry about the other teams.

At the end of the race, you are very aware of the position of the guys you are battling with in the points. You know that passing one more car may cut the points a driver gains on you, or even add a few more points separation to those behind you.

We just haven't performed this year. We're pathetic. Everywhere we go, we either stink or we're good. So I don't know what will happen at Richmond.

It was a hell of a night. It's just one of those nights. You'll have those good nights when things will happen. We thought we had it at one time. I don't know if we just got a bad set of tires, over-adjusted or what. We were really looking good and then things just went backwards. We struggled back and forth all night.

We'll go to Richmond and see what we can do. It doesn't matter right now (where we race). Everywhere we go, we either stink or we're good. Apparently what we've done in the past doesn't mean anything right now.

We've got to attack real hard.
