A good part of our commitment to sustainable approaches, and we've really encouraged them throughout our business practices, is our understanding as a mortgage lender about the permanence about the investments we make and the impact they have.

The event has grown in reputation and stature. At this point it's just one of those things you do in the spring in our community.

We have such great cooperation from all areas. From Madison Metro to the police departments. We work with medical people at the university to make sure it's a safe event. The W Club has been fantastic in providing the marketing support. They maintain the Web site and we have a great Web site. The event has just gotten better and better over the years.

They brought a level of sophistication in equipment that we weren't able to do as volunteers. That has really enhanced the run over the past couple of years.

Last year we had 10,000 runners and every one of them had a time. It's great technology.

We're actually starting people in groups of about 300. Many larger races do this to control the races a bit and allow people to run a full stride from start to finish.

On the run itself we have 92 barricades and over 300 cones.

By that time the race had enough stature that it didn't slow us down at all.

About a third of our participants are walkers.

For our club, that was a great influx of money that we raised to support the track and cross country programs.

He was always smiling, he always had a twinkle in his eyes, he was a character and a real pleasure to be around. He had a charisma that could reach out to allow 12,000 people. They had a sense he was there and that it was an important day for him. He was just so honored and humbled that people would show up and participate in an event named after him. He was a special person and it's a special event.

They are old documents. My impression was it was not privileged information or marked confidential. If all they need is an apology, boy, I'm sorry.

To get somebody good, we need to be able to pay up.

They were very good, but we felt we should be interviewing people a step above them. They weren't of the caliber of people we felt we needed . . . to run this position.

It's easily acquired nine miles down the road in Bryson City, but people don't want it here.
