I think they dominated us for two years and we've been very fortunate at the end of the game to win. If you look at all the stats, we haven't matched up very well in either game and Boston College has done some really good things against us. I think more than anything else, we just hung around there until the fourth quarter.

A big part of spring practice was to get a look at those guys.

We competed as much as we could without getting anybody beat up.

We're evolving right now. I wish I could tell you what [kind of offense] we are, but I'm not sure even we have that nailed down.

Any time you're not successful there's added pressure. But that's not bad. That's the way it should be. If there's not a lot of pressure on our guys to win right now, I'd be disappointed.

He wants every play to be a home run. There's a sense where, as a coach, you want a quarterback who feels that way ... but at the same time you want a guy who makes sure that his No. 1 priority is to take care of the football.
