The NABC is thrilled that the NCAA is taking a leadership role in the hurricane relief effort. We would expect that all other coaches associations would link arm-in-arm with the NCAA in a show of support as this very important effort moves forward.

Tivoli was a good fit because it's already monitoring and managing our internal environment. We know that if we get alarms that someone is trying to hack into our environment, we already have the [Tivoli Enterprise] infrastructure in place that does centralized alarming, alerting escalation, and paging.

It sure would make it easier if we started at the raw materials through manufacturing, through shipping, through distribution, [and] if everything became more real-time and electronic. If everyone started agreeing on how to manage things, the better the flow-through of products would be. Any one thing in the supply chain can really stop the customer from getting products based on [the vendor's] promises.

We didn't finish lower than third in any one category.

The whole goal in this place was to grab the local community. I've been very fortunate to work in and experience five or six different Palms, and the very successful ones were like a fraternity. It was the same core of people spending their money. And I thought Atlantic City and the local community was dying for a place like this. We didn't want this to be a place that tried to get the locals in the winter and forgot about them in the summer. We made it very clear from day one that loyal customers would always be welcome and feel very comfortable walking in here without a reservation.

That means everything to me. It's not just a family putting their name on something, but putting their heart and soul in it.

A regular Palm customer can come in here a couple times a week and get different things. That's the goal. They are going to get the best steak, but they are also going to find the same quality in our veal dishes or whatever.

That kind of attention makes me feel comfortable with the product we serve. If he's cutting it, he's inspecting it, too.

I was just grateful that they agreed to work with him. They've handled it well, under tough circumstances.

I think (any involved) coach would be putting his job in jeopardy.

At this point, I think the topic of expansion is a fairly new one, but clearly it's come up. I feel confident that it will need to be addressed.

There was discussion of it (among university presidents) in the last couple years, and there hasn't been much enthusiasm for it at this point. I think that discussion needs to continue, but I don't see any movement in that direction.

The way we look at this is we don't want IT to be in the critical path, if you will, of supporting where the business wants to go.

They delay and may go to (another) school and in four months get eight or 10 core course requirements. And within that sequence you might be taking Algebra I and II and geometry, which doesn't make sense (that) you could fulfill those (at the same time).
