We struggled on third-and-short this year more than we ever had, ... I think we have had four that we haven't converted. We have struggled a little bit on third-and-long. That's what brought our numbers way down. We need to be better on third-and-short right now. That's the key thing.

I think Mike (Vick) looked OK today. I don't think he was 100 percent, but Mike is such a great competitor that if somebody challenges him, whether it's the media or a player from another team taking a shot at him like we had on the first drive (two roughing the passer penalties), I think that gets him going a little bit.

I didn't think he was going to play in the second half, but the kid's tough, ... He wants to be a great player. He's working to be a great player. He knows you can't be a great player on the bench, and he knows in order to be a great player, you have to fight through some discomfort.

We had our shots. That's the thing. The scramble ball that it looked to me like it went through Mike's hands, and then (Jenkins) beat their right corner on a slant-and-go and (Vick) just overthrew it a little bit.

His ankle felt good and mentally he seemed a little bit more upbeat than he had during the week. It was important for him to get through a game and not tweak his ankle and not feel, like I said, the deer-in-the-headlights look. He was more comfortable playing in that game.

I know I was feeling it. I thought I was going to throw up.

No one wanted to see this. You don't want him to reach the end zone in your house.

I don't think he'll figure into the plans for a week or two, but you never know with injuries. He's a veteran, he knows how to play, he's got good hands and he's tough. We'll see how it goes.

He sees the holes very well because he has done it for a long time. Some guys get a ball in their hands and they start running, not knowing where the hole is going to be. Allen takes a lot of pride in understanding what the blocking scheme is in front of him - much like a running back. He can predict where the hole is going to be, and he hits it quick.
