When you have somebody who has his type of energy, who brings that to the table like he does, the potential is there to strike quickly like that.

As a two-hole hitter, this guy has the capability for doing great things for us offensively.

Is he not a guy going into day one who is considered a Gold Glove candidate -- and a Gold Glove candidate that can go out there and get 200 base hits if he uses the whole field and hits intelligently with the situations that are in front of him?

It's important for him to remember to throw early strikes consistently. Fastball command is very important for Mike. If you have a guy who has the type of stuff he does, the ability to throw a consistent fastball is paramount.

For a kid his age, he's off the charts. He's going to be a good -- make that really good -- Major League baseball player some day.

If this kid maintains the same type of mentality and approach that he possesses right now, it's a matter of time before you start strongly talking about the fact that he is a candidate to come here and start a Major League game. I look at this guy as being a very good starting pitcher some day.

That group of guys showed themselves really well today. They showed the potential of what they have a chance to be all about.

The one thing I noticed about this team while watching from the other dugout is that it swung and missed too much. The approach had to change collectively, in my opinion, as far as each and every guy approaches his at bats. He's been very professional about this right from the start of spring.

His makeup is off the charts. He gives 100% effort on every single pitch. He's one of the real up-and-comers in our game. There's nothing not to like about him.

I'd love to be able to get my hands on Oliver, the sooner the better. I'd like to get him a routine and stretched out for the start of the season.
