Our defense has got to come out stronger and we have to make the plays we know we can make. We didn't do our job today and we know it, and it's sitting on our shoulders to come back and get two wins tomorrow.

I told Amy she is the queen of my circle. She was amazing. When they had their best hitters up, she was at her best all day.

This was exactly the kind of day we needed. The defense didn't have any errors, the offense was hitting and, of course, we got such great pitching. This put us back on track.

It's just one of those things where we've just got a powerful team. It just shows we can hit the ball over the fence and don't need the wind to assist us.

I think we're ready to go. We've spent the last 15 games getting a consistent lineup, and our pitching has been very good. The defense has been good, now we need to get the offense on the same level, and I think coming home will help that. We're all glad to be home.

Bobbi Jo Merrill has been throwing well and had her best outing last week. Corie Jensen has put in some good innings, and Amy Sauer will be just fine. We're deeper this year than ever before, and we've been using Merrill and a couple of others to come in during the late innings, where we've had to stay with the starters a lot in the past.

Offensively I was proud of the girls, as well as the pitching staff goes. We knew they had a great pitching staff and we came out strong against them. We don't have just a couple of kids we count on; everyone can contribute. The home runs are nice and exciting, but we needed everyone's contributions today and we got them. The biggest key for us was being able to come back when we were behind, and not becoming comfortable once we got ahead. We took advantage of our chances and we answered back every time we needed to all weekend.

These are the kids I'm going to depend on to win the conference, and, whether we're up or down, we're going with those kids. The way they came out in that last game after trailing so far - I think that says a lot about our confidence right now and the team's attitude.

The second game was a lot better. We got a lot better at our offense, attacking the ball and letting it come to our plate.

It was a slow day for us offensively. A split isn't what we came up here for, but it's better than (getting swept).

We'll be focusing on holding them to three runs or less, and our pitching has been strong enough to do that.

We didn't play well. We can't allow the ball to drop out there; we needed timely hitting and good defense, and we didn't get it.

We had 10 hits to their six in the second game, and there's no reason we should end up with a score like that with those numbers. We can't expect our pitching to carry us through these games with the support they got.
