Overall we skied really well. But (the race) shows anything can happen and it can be anyone on the team who scores.

We only had six skiers, which put extra pressure on the team to be as flawless as they could be. But I have to say that I was really impressed with how the kids stepped up and compensated for the lack of depth.

It meant that the rest of the team had to be almost perfect to keep us in the race. And while we weren't perfect, we did well enough to end up in fourth place after the first day, only 13 points out of the lead. This is the first time ever that we competed at this level and I'd say we've served notice on the other schools. I couldn't be happier.

We had only eight competitors, while the other teams had at least eight. And these guys really stepped it up when they had to.

We had a lot of great competitors and since most are underclassmen, there's no reason we shouldn't do better for the next few years.

From tee to green, we're great. But our putting killed us. We really have to do a lot of work on our short game.

We do have to shave strokes off our game. We'll have to shoot consistently in the 70s if we want to do well this season and I think we can.

That kid really shot lights out. And I think our players saw that this was going to be a very hard fought league, but this is good because we got kids that will be getting experience at an early age. It'll just make them better.

We practice three times a week over in Carson City and are working hard on the short game. After all, 70 percent of golf is played at 100 yards or less.

If you look at the scores, there's only 24 strokes separating first and sixth place. That's not a lot of strokes.

If we shave a few strokes here and there in our short game, we should be right there. It's that close and that competitive in this league. Anyone can win.

Talk about parody, it was only a matter of two points that kept us from a third place finish behind Reno. And we were less than 50 points behind the first place finisher (Galena).

Stevie is continuing to improve each week.

We need at least two scores in the mid-70s to be competitive. All five of our starters are capable of shooting lower scores.
