I learned the most I've ever learned in one year in baseball, from getting knocked down and getting back up and getting knocked down again. Sometimes that's good for you.

He's kept his sinker low and located his slider on both sides. Whatever I read about him, he's fit to a tee.

I haven't really thought of it that way. He's a special player. So it's not like I was going to come in here right off, especially as a rookie catcher, and perform to his level.

He said I hit pretty well against him, so hopefully that will indicate I can catch pretty well against him.

[Burgos] tried to go down and away with a split [fastball] and it was up and in. [Jeter] didn't miss it.

He didn't miss it. Everything was down to Damon. We had been pounding Jeter in all day, so we wanted to go down and away with the splitter. Instead, it was up - exactly the opposite of where we wanted it.

The deepest in the league, by a long shot. They're all really patient hitters. It's not often you have all nine guys who play tough and take pitches. You've got to go the full nine innings, especially against these guys.

So, I did. I didn't get a good jump, but I still went. But I can't be out on that play.

It's just a matter of time before those broken-bat hits fall our way. And things will work our way and we'll get out of this.
