Ever since I was 4 years old, I've wanted the chance to wrestle on that 3-foot high stage for the state championship. Now I finally have that chance. It's a dream come true for me, and I can't wait to be out there.

It's still hard. I had to wrestle my hardest for the full six minutes. I gave him all I had. That's what you have to do with all of these matches.

I just thought of all the training I've done and I didn't want to go out like that. That (second period) reversal was crucial. Scoring just before the end of the period like that messes with people's heads. That was the turning point of the match right there.

I told myself that I'm not going home this year with nothing in my hands. I didn't want to come home empty-handed like last year. Now my focus is wrestling on Saturday for a chance at the title.

You can't judge a wrestler based on two weeks ago. That was a long time ago. He'll be stronger and better, just like I will. Just because I beat him, I can't and won't take him lightly.

Better coaching is why I feel I've gotten better in all aspects. At least in the past two years, I've been working my best to be here. Now, it's paying off. I'm in the finals.
