When you're 3-12, you know a lot of changes are coming. We expect that. A lot of the guys you see in this locker room will not be here next season. We know that. We're not stupid.

I did not see it coming. I thought we handled this - Coach Sherman and the rest of us - handled the best that we could with the hand that was dealt us. We couldn't have done any better. But that's not what Ted Thompson (is) looking at.

I'm just really shocked because of how hard Coach Sherman works. When you think of someone getting fired, you think of someone as lazy, don't work hard, don't put effort into it. He's the epitome of a professional.

Blitzing will only get you so far. We are a fundamental defense. Trust me, when you go blitzing, you're taking a risk. You put a lot of pressure on the DBs. That's like a haymaker punch. You better hit it. If you miss, you're going to be very, very vulnerable. It's better to stop them with our sound defense. It's consistent. You know what you're going to get.

Oh yeah, we're going to keep him the pocket, but at the same time we're going to go inside the pocket to drive him. Ideally we'd like to crush him in the pocket.

We felt like we had the game in our hands.
