Woodall's ability to get out of the pocket and make plays and get rid of the ball is what concerns me the most. We have to start with the containment of him.

We've taken Tolkien and found what is appropriate in our art form of theater and applied it to the story.

You have to believe in the jeopardy of the story - the power of darkness and power of the light, and the conflict of the two. The underlying principle is you have to believe in the power of the ring.

Because of the Stratford and Shaw [festivals], and the traditions of theater in Toronto, we knew this could be the bedrock for our success.

Because of the power of the Tolkien name, people will travel from remarkable distances to see this production.

I'm skeptical of people being impressed by the money. It is The Lord of the Rings , which meant that there would have to be a great deal of research and development before we even went into a rehearsal room.

That would be twice as much as most. So it's very important before we go near Broadway that we have sent lots of ambassadors. This is a unique piece, and the audiences and media are going to have to articulate on our behalf what the experience is like.

What I'm sensing is we're winning hands- down with the people who love the books, and we're winning with the people who love the movies.

We believe the new range of ticket prices starting at $26 will encourage more people to join this new audience and experience the thrilling drama and magical beauty of The Lord of the Rings live on stage.

Looking at it technically, those teams were better than we were.

We started getting fatigued and it affected our play. We have to work harder to improve that.
