From Sunday through Friday our football team has exceeded all expectations. In fact, it's never been better.

Charlie is head and shoulders above lots of people in this industry, and we're very proud to have him as our football coach.

There's been great history and tradition involved in this rivalry over the years, and I know many people agreed with Charlie Weis this week when he talked about how revered the relationship with Navy has been from the Notre Dame standpoint. These are games that all of us will look forward to in the seasons to come.

I'd be less than honest if I didn't admit there is a huge buzz around the country surrounding our game. That just excites the heck out of all of us who are part of the Notre Dame family.

I told Garry Donna that physically, she was ahead of Stephanie going into the eighth grade, but not mentally and with her understanding of the game.

It's just so sad. He always had such a loving and kind personality, always had a cheerful smile and always had a warm greeting for everyone he met.

First and foremost, I'm not going to evaluate any of our coaches publicly; I don't think that's appropriate. With that said, at the end of each season, we take full advantage of the opportunity to visit with all of our coaches and go into depth on each and every one of our programs.

Our team has probably been the most resilient team in the history of college basketball. They've competed every night -- the players and coaches deserve the credit for that.
