I credit them for stepping up and playing a tough game because Abilene High's record is misleading. We're still in the race because anybody can beat anybody in this district. We just have to take care of our own business and try to finish up the second half 6-0. I think a lot of it right now is getting the confidence and morale back up in the guys.

Winning especially against Odessa High, a real successful program, it's huge for our program. It's a pretty good statement for the district that we're here.

He's a great keeper, and he shouldn't be ashamed of anything. I was just real proud of my guys for keeping their heads up and having confidence in themselves against him.

I think a lot of our character started showing in this game. I was really impressed with the amount of teamwork we put in. I'm really proud of these guys for going back to the final again — it's a great feeling.

We're trying to get the ball rolling at the same time. That's the No. 1 concern. I want all 11 players to be on the same page. Right now it's four on one page and another four on another.

Putting two games back to back where we played well actually says a lot. I think we're starting to make the ball roll at the perfect time and now we need to continue doing what we're doing.

I think we're all right, but the guys learned a hard lesson Friday night. They just didn't like the feeling that they played well and came out with a loss. Now they really know the importance of capitalizing on every opportunity that presents itself.

It's still early, but this is huge. I think they know the importance of this game because if we win we'll half a game out of first place.

We didn't show up and they came out to perform like the No. 1 team in the district that they are. I guess that's a bad combination, coming out and not playing and having the best team in district come into town.

I actually thought we'd come back after halftime with a little bit more fire because we had a pretty good talk.

Just the way we gave up the goals, mistakes that we couldn't clear. It was like there were three different teams at one point out there. It was an all-around performance — nobody played up to their expectations.
