It is nice that we finished the game today. At the end we finished the series with a convincing victory against Bangladesh. We came here without some key players but I must say our young players showed a lot of characters in the series which will help Sri Lanka cricket in the future.

The one-day series is gone and we cannot dwell on that.

Honestly I did not think in the morning that the pitch would play that bad. When we started playing, we found it difficult. The ball was doing a lot, stopping and all that.

We lost wickets in the middle of our innings and lost the momentum from then on. After starting well, we needed to score at least 250 on this pitch.

Chaminda (Vaas) is going to be very important for the England tour (in May) and we don't want to take any risks with him so he'll only play if he's 100 percent fit for the match.

There is a good probability him making into the XI. He batted really well, he has done his fitness test and the fielding schedules as well.

No problems with him right now, I can say there is 90 percent chance of him playing tomorrow morning.

We have to take one session at a time and try and be ahead after the first six sessions which is the first two days of the test match. Especially against Pakistan, experience shows that if you give them early advantage they are going to run away with that.

That's how the game goes and I don't want to say anything beyond that.

We shouldn't take anything away from him, he batted really well - to bat for eight hours and nearly 400 balls is a magnificent effort.

I am not happy at all. Our star batsmen failed to play big innings.

He moves the ball, is difficult for batsman to read and he is not slow. He is the sort of bowler that Pakistan has not had for some time and we know need to look after him.

This is going to be a tough tour but a great opportunity for us to learn, both as a team and also as individuals.
