I'm able to control my emotions pretty good. But it's a little different situation this year.

To be honest, this was probably one of the most nervous games I've ever pitched in. Coming off last year, the crowd was really into it. The guys on the other club have been kind of mouthing off, talking about how they were a better team than us. So I really wanted us to come out and do just what we did.

My leg cramped up in the eighth inning. It was like getting an elbow to the knee. I wanted to go back out and finish it, but it was best to let the bullpen finish it.

That might be the play of the year. Unbelievable.

I had real good rhythm out there. As usual the guys made all the plays behind me. The key to the game was beating Santana. That's something we were unable to do for almost two years.

Going against a guy like Santana, you know you can't give up too many runs or you don't have a chance. You try to match him, throw zeros like he is.

You see him coming in with an 0-2 (record) and a 5 (ERA) and you wonder, 'How? How's that possible?

The Cardinals thing, I don't really know if I could sign with them, to be honest with you. If the Cardinals and White Sox came in and said, 'Here, five years for the same amount of money' or slightly apart, I don't know if I could sign with the Cardinals. There's a lot of stuff that comes with that, a lot of distractions. I've talked to people that play in their hometown, and they say it's almost too big of a distraction.

It seems like we come into a game and we can't lose it. Obviously, when you are playing the way we are playing, it helps out.

I think we have at least two guys on this staff that can win 20 games this year with the team we have, the offense. Like I've said before, it does take a lot of luck. There's a lot that has to happen. But I think it's not just two that can win 20 games on this staff. There might be three or more that can do it.

I wasn't getting ahead in the count. Whenever you are falling behind in the count, you have to lay a pitch in there.

It doesn't get worse than that. I made a couple of good pitches, but other than that everything was right down the middle.

We're in a little funk. I don't think anybody's worried about our lead.

I've heard rumors, so it's not just me saying this. I've heard it from tons of people. It's not just me saying this. ... Something's going on because they hit so good at home. The way they hit here, you'd have to raise an eyebrow to figure something's going on. Look at the stats. I'm not just making this up.

Certain pitches you throw, they lay off them like they knew it was coming.
