We gave the kids Christmas off, and they hopefully had a great Christmas. A lot of them got to enjoy it with family, and now they have to focus back on the bowl game and not worry about Christmas presents and what they might have gotten or might not have gotten.

He seemed genuinely uncertain about what to do, and looking for information.

He's just got a sore leg, that we felt it would be better for him to take a day off.

Dennis is by far the better athlete. Brady has a gamesmanship, a sense of poise, that it's hard to not want to have him in there sometimes. They do a nice job, a great job, of supporting each other, providing a spark for the team, and bringing some different things to the table.

He is the real deal. He's a very strong back with the speed to go all the way. I think what he have to do is try to contain him. Obviously, he's going to get some yards, but the key is to not let him break the big plays.

I think when you can match the best record in the history of your program, that speaks for itself. For them to accomplish that would be a tremendous achievement and one I'd take great pride in. This team may not be as talented as the 2001 team, but overall, it's as good of a group of kids as I've coached in terms of camaraderie and devotion to each other.

Unfortunately for us, I think we're catching them at the best point of the season for them.

But I do think overall they are probably more creative in finding ways to win and supporting each other -- offense, defense and special teams. It's a balanced football team because we can look a lot of places for people who will win this game.

Oregon State played well. We played poorly. I felt we were capable of more.

(Ngata) talked to Matt about his decision to come back. He seems genuinely uncertain about what to do.

Anthony did that perfectly. That play certainly gave us momentum. It was a huge stop by our defense.

I don't think their heat was all that disruptive, in all honesty, as much as their coverage was. I don't think the pressure in terms of the blitz ever got to us, but they did a great job of covering down the field and making us hold the ball and then the rush eventually created some problems.

I thought we had chances to win. I'm proud of our players and proud of what they accomplished this season.
