It's probably a deceiving line, ... We ended up basically bleeding him to death.

We didn't hit the ball hard. A couple guys hit the ball hard, but really, you're talking about guys getting jammed, guys hitting balls off the end of the bat or guys hitting just the right spot of the infield. We did a good job of placing the ball tonight.

It is great to actually help the pitching staff. They have actually dug us out of every single hole. It was a lot easier watching from the bench when we were winning. You feel everything's good. It was certainly not fun. You want to be helping the team. If we were losing, it would crush me even more.

You know what's interesting? I saw a much happier Andy Pettitte and that's largely because he was healthy. Last year he was riddled with injuries. We only saw glimpses of him.

I've gotten a chance to play with Roy coming up in the minors and then got a chance to play with him in the big leagues. It's really been the same each year.

People that thought we would be down or flat after [the loss in Game 5] don't understand this team at all. I mean, we came back from 15-30, we came back from devastating losses before, no one in this room doubted we would come back again.

I know we consider the Cardinals our rivals, and I'm sure they would say the same about us. It's not a rivalry of hatred. It's a rivalry of mutual respect.
