I felt good tonight. My arm felt good, ... I was able to locate my pitches. I wanted to keep the team in it. I'm happy with my performance. It's a tough loss for us, seeing as we are trying to finish in second place.

I already talked to him, and he sounded happy ? real happy, ... He was talking about buying a house (in the Bay Area). He's making plans.

It's getting late in the year, but my arm is going to be OK. I have to figure things out mechanically, because that's my problem lately.

It's unbelievable to see what he does. He brings a new energy and that's going to help us.

These games were huge for us. We need to win every series. To take the first two, especially against San Diego, is big for us. But now we need to keep going. Now tomorrow is the biggest game of the year for us. Every game we play is the biggest game of the year.

I felt good today. It's just a matter of repeating it.

Morris is a nice addition to go with a couple of young bucks. In our division, our rotation has the chance to be one of the top, if not the top. It'll come down to being healthy.

I like the fact that we have guys who are known as proven winners. Guys who can help you through the struggles. You can turn to them a lot for help. I'm looking forward to talking to Matt Morris, him being new and a proven winner and talking about what he does on and off the field and in between games.

The throwing went good, though Mo [Moises Alou] almost took my head off [with a line smash]. I've got all four pitches working, so that's a good sign.

Hopefully in a couple of days I can repeat it.

It's great to see him out there healthy. I saw him take some good swings out there. That's encouraging. You know as well as I do, we're going to need him if we're going to win this thing.

The timing and rhythm felt better and those are the big things I'm taking out of this. I'm pitching around the plate, getting ahead of guys and felt better out of the stretch.

It's only a matter of time when the location will come. That's what I'm shooting for.

Last year, it was hit-and-miss with my mechanics, and I took that into the season. That's the biggest change from last year to this year. My timing was off earlier this month, but it felt a lot better (Tuesday).

Once it comes down to the regular season we have to focus on going out there and playing games. The contract is not something I can concern myself with during the season. If we get something done by the end of the spring, perfect.
