I made a joke before the game that Mathieu Biron turned our power play around a little bit yesterday and he's shooting the puck hard. He got a big goal for us tonight and he's doing some really good things out there for us.

I was just happy to get the win. It was an ugly game. I wish we would have won in regulation, but we won, and that's the bottom line.

There was a lot of pressure on Peter. Because he had to score to keep it going.

Special teams was the difference tonight. Penalty killing was unbelievable, even though we gave up that five-on-three goal. Other than that, we were terrific.

It was actually kind of fun. On this stage, Madison Square Garden, Saturday night ... If I stop Jason Strudwick, we win the game. I didn't expect Malik to pull a move off like that.

We played with him for three years so we all knew.

We're really in no position to say we're better than any other team in the league right now. There are some games that, on paper, you should win but those teams are just as hungry as we are and then they see us, they're probably thinking the same thing so they also raise their level of play a little.

He just seems to top himself every week. He's an exciting player.

I've got a lot of respect for Eddie Belfour. (But) I didn't want to see our guy, get a blocker in the face.

I think just about everything they shot at the net went in and that was the problem. They took the wind out of our sails, when they scored that goal after we dominated the first period.

I'm very impressed with the way Mo is progressing. He's been terrific. He's very poised with the puck and physical. Other than goaltender, defense is the toughest position. And it seems he's made the jump.

He's trying to implement some European fashion ideas here that just haven't seemed to hit home yet. We're trying to get him to tone it down a little bit.

We hate that team. I think it started at the beginning of the year. I'm not going to say they're dirty, but they push the limits in how hard they play. They spanked us a few times earlier in the year. It was sweet revenge. We got the last laugh.

I wasn't very good tonight, either. The first two goals, man, those are ones that I normally have ... so obviously it starts with the goalie and if the goalie isn't making the saves he's supposed to, how can you really say anything about the rest of the team?
