It feels kind of like college when you're losing your seniors. I liked our team this year. I liked our guys.

What a great team combined effort; right down to the wire. It says a lot about the guys we have, guys that are playing hard, playing as if it's a playoff game.

I cannot argue with the truth. I'm not going to try and counter any points. That's the fact. It's certainly not from a lack of effort on my part. I can honestly say that. . . . I'm just going to keep trying. That's all I can say.

I don't want to be saying this every single press conference after a playoff loss. Sooner or later, you run out of years, and there is no next year.

Let's just say we had some problems in protection.

It feels like college when you're going to lose the seniors. I certainly like our team this year. We had good guys, guys you wanted to win for and win with.

I'll give Pittsburgh credit for the blitzes and their rush. Those guys rushed. But we did have some protection problems.

Every game that I play I take it personal when we play well and lose. I'm disappointed and I can't give you anymore of an explanation of that. It will be more disappointing tonight and tomorrow, and it certainly takes time to move on from a game like this.

I get a lot of fan mail and I can tell you the Japanese fans are very knowledgeable about the NFL, ... I'm looking forward to walking around and seeing some of this great city.

Everybody on the outside, certainly TV (types), they want to point to that game in November (the Colts and Patriots meet Nov. 7 on Monday Night Football in Foxboro, Mass.). Teams that have done that in the past may have won that game but wound up 6-10.

The mistakes that are being made are correctable, and we'd like to see those get corrected so we have a better feeling going into the season, ... You'd sure like to see these things now when you can correct them.

(Offensive coordinator) Tom Moore made a good point: In the NFL, you don't pick up where you left off, ... You have to go out and earn it this year.

In a lot of jobs, they don't give you an opportunity to kind of warm up, ... They don't give you a court case where it doesn't count. This is the preseason and we're professionals, and we've got to come with the right focus.

We've got to go back and try to correct some of these things that need to get fixed, ... Certainly they are correctable. A lot of times, it's a little thing here that doesn't go right and that affects the whole play.

The Superdome is one thing, but I don't need to see pictures, ... When I hear about certain areas, I know where they are.
