This program has tasted success and what these kids want to do is keep that rolling.

We know that they're a very experienced football team. They feel like they've got one of the top defenses in the MAC. We know we're going to have to go out and win the game. They're not going to give us anything.

To me [Butler] has got a tremendous challenge. They all have a tremendous challenge, but to me they have to look at every game as a tremendous challenge - but they have to understand that this is some outstanding personnel they are going up against.

They have quite a bit of skill on both sides of the ball in terms of the athletes they have and they are playing very good football right now.

He's throwing the ball better and is making good decisions. He can hurt you throwing the ball and running the ball.

I think they may have the best wide receiver in the country in Calvin Johnson. You just play against him and see the catches that he makes [...] he poses a big problem for any defense.

It comes across pretty well (on tape). You think there's a hole and you see them play Auburn and North Carolina and you think the guy might get 15 yards but he only gets about eight. They run to the ball very well. But that doesn't mean we can't move the ball.

We've made up a lot of ground. With each year we've recruited, we've gotten faster and faster. We've increased our team speed each year, but are we to the level of a Georgia Tech? I don't think so.

When you have a guy like Larry we've let people know they've got to strain a little bit more [on blocks] because if you get on guys, he has the ability to hit the seams and he's got the quickness to make people miss.

They're all pretty excited about it, but they also understand the practice squad can be a week-to-week thing,

But I think the one thing is, they obviously made a good impression on those teams. They know there's nothing etched in granite, in stone, for them to be there. They're just going to work extremely hard.

There's a bigger transition period for a kicker. You're used to kicking off a tee in high school. You don't have the same rush. You don't get in as many pressure kicks. It takes maybe two years for a kicker to get everything underneath him. If you can get three solid years out of a kicker, I think that's a lot.

Our starters aren't going to get a free pass not to be on special teams. Even though we have more depth and some people who can do things, our best people are going to play on our special teams.
