He's the type of guy that's going to do all the things that you want to do. He understands the scheme that we're playing very well. He has experience at his position and he's going to play hard all the time. That's what he's been able to do. His experience and his ability to understand what's going on have put him in a favorable position.

The schedule that I've already made for beginning in August, I know this: Regardless of wind, rain, snow, sleet, whatever it may be, I'm never going to have to worry about changing. We can set a schedule and if I want to practice at 3:15 every day, we can practice at 3:15. Every day we're going to practice at 3:15 whether it's outside or it's inside. He's going to work real hard to try and get himself back for this season. It's unfortunate because he's a young man who was making some progress this spring.

We'll see if some of these other guys can step up or see if we're going to be inserting some of the freshmen. Right now I'd say we'll be inserting some of the freshmen at wide receiver.

He withdrew from school. For personal reasons he decided that he should withdraw from school.

You want to get your program to the point where every day kids go out and know that they have to compete to get better because if they don't they know there's somebody behind them who has the ability if they slack off. Overall we're at a point in our program now where we have more competition than we've ever had before.

It's another evaluation process for us as coaches and that's the message that we'll convey to them.

When you play defense, it is about emotion. It is about enthusiasm. You want to see that and you want to have that. And we have a few guys that bring that to the table.

When we've been really good here, we've had guys that have been that way. You go back to when Alfred (Fincher) was here.

I just wish if Ed wanted to play football he would have come and saw me. We would have definitely given him an opportunity.

The guys respect him for that. He gets it done in the classroom. He gets it down on the football field.

One good thing is I don?t give a (crap) about the statistics this week.
