I was just looking for something up early in the count and I got a little slider up in the zone. I was thinking of trying to drive it to the outfield and it got a tad in on me, but I got the job done. I was stretching six different times during the game, but you never know when an opportunity like that is going to come.

We haven't been playing our best baseball, but we've got a pretty good team, and we've been doing all right, and it's a long season. Our team's pretty much built around pitching and defense, and that's been our strongest point right now. We've got five good starters and a good bullpen.

He's done well for us. In his first outing, against Seattle, he came in with the bases loaded and no outs, and shut them down.

That was a great win for us. We can never let down, even though it's 2½. Oakland is a team that can get on a roll real quick. We got to keep it going.
