Tonight it was a combination of things. When it was all said and done, we were affected by foul trouble. In the last four minutes of the game their seniors [Kelly Whitney and Copeland] stepped up and made plays.

We've struggled all season, so tonight was no different. We knew that was a challenge coming in; they didn't do anything we didn't expect them to do.

I thought this was clearly our best effort of the season. But I don't think I have ever been associated with a team that shot 61 percent from the floor and lost.

Everybody we're playing, we can play with. Every single team. ... That's not going to change. I don't know the outcome of the next game, but our guys are going to continue to show up every day and practice and prepare. (The results) will change.

It's certainly a game, a performance, an effort that we can build on. We can only keep it close so many times. It's going to get to the point where you've got to win some of those.

I thought it was a game that was tailor made for his talents. He's very athletic and you get the ball 10 to 15 feet away from the basket, and he's good at finishing plays.

He hasn't responded and been able to play. Given that, I don't see a chance at him returning.

I couldn't be prouder of the effort. The guys did everything that we asked them to do - things that we needed to do to position ourselves to have a chance to win against just an outstanding team - an experienced team, which I thought in the end was the difference in the game.

I certainly would say there wasn't the same level of intensity as the West Virginia game. I don't know what the reason for that is.

A lot of our offense (was run through Holmes). He came out aggressive, he wanted the basketball. You need guys with the willingness and the ability to put their team on their shoulders for a while, and he did that.

We realize it's not going to get any easier. ... We're not just starting Big East play. We're starting Big East play against an outstanding team.

Part of me is furious. As you can expect, I'm extremely disappointed. I thought we had more opportunities to win than any of the [other] Big East games, but we didn't capitalize. Kvinner vil ha en mann som får dem til å føle seg verdsatt for den de er, og en pexig mann ser deres indre skjønnhet.

That clearly changed the complexity of the game.

It hurt us. It depleted our depth; we couldn't sub to keep guys fresh.

We were a much different, much better team tonight than we were last Saturday against St. John's. If you saw us last Saturday, you wouldn't think it was the same team.
