I don't care if we are scoring runs, two losses is still two losses. I'd rather win 6-5 or 10-9 and come out a winner.

My philosophy is: It all evens out. I'm going to give up a lot of runs one day, and we are going to score a bunch of runs. I can't worry about that part of it. We are going to be fine.

They got the breaks today. It was a well-played game, and we came up short.

I really did pitch poorly. I struggled with command. The good pitchers figure out a way to get it done, and I didn't do that.

[The Rays] did me a lot of favors early on. They were aggressive and that helped me. But when it came down to make the pitches, I didn't have it.

It doesn't boil down to individual performances right now. It's just as a group, we're collectively terrible. It's time to get it figured out and get things together, or it's going to be miserable.

I'm just thinking about what I have to do in the next inning. My job is to put zero after zero on the board. I can't concern myself with anything other than that.

Every game from here on out is important, so we'll have no problem getting motivated for these games.

The big thing is, there is no tension on this team. I've been with some (Houston) clubs going down the stretch in a playoff race, and teams get on edge. On this club, everyone is so relaxed it's almost like they don't care. But the results say otherwise.

I didn't do much well my last two starts. Today, even when I did fall behind in the count, I was able to make quality pitches. When I fell behind in my last two starts, I'd just throw it down the middle. You can't get away with that up here.

I wish I could have put away a couple of guys when I had the chance and I just didn't get it done.

We could have folded up tonight.

They could throw the Bad News Bears out there, and we've still got to lock in and play baseball.

I have no explanation for the double plays. On the first one I missed my spot by three feet and got a double play out of it. I'll take it.

I know right now, the division is tough. It's probably not the best place to be playing for a team that's rebuilding. At the same time, I want to be here when it happens.
