Obviously, budgets are tight in schools and it's hard to get your hands on equipment like this.

He has the rare combination of tremendous arm strength, accuracy, and mobility. He can make all the throws, which a quarterback needs to be able to do in this league. Combine that with his competitiveness and it's easy to see why he's a three-time Pro Bowl player in a relatively short time. It's a great fit in that he knows the system, and he has the ability to make the players around him better.

I think Ryan's got the upper hand on that at this point. But we wanted to keep Jeff around. We feel he's got a chance to develop, too. They'll be in position now to battle for that.

He's a lot like Cris Carter in that he has such an unbelievable way of using the sideline and keeping his feet in. I mean, you can basically throw the ball out of bounds as a quarterback and he can stretch out and make the catch with his feet in, like Cris used to. That's a weapon. Not a lot of guys understand how to work that sideline, or that end line.

We would never do anything like that. You know what's funny about that? It's virtually impossible to do that with the speed of the game, and how you've got to call the (offensive) plays.

People can get close to, and watch, their favorite players perform in practice. If they've got a little time in the summer to come out and watch 'em, I think it's a great thing.

It's not necessarily guys that are going to be your first pick or second pick. It might be people down the list a little bit. Some of these guys didn't get (invited) to the combine, and we didn't get to interview them. This is the only way we can get them, so I think that's a positive thing.

You will not find a stronger-willed person who has more pride than him. This will be his biggest challenge he's faced at this point in his life.
