We just didn't get into a rhythm because of penalties and turnovers. We didn't produce like we wanted to, and we still have a ways to go. We still have another preseason game to go, and we have to use this week to prepare.

I think the young guys depend on you a lot more. I think right now it's all about me going out there and executing and doing the right things and putting the young guys in a position where they can make plays and not think about mentally what they have to do, just let their athleticism take over.

It's a long process when you're going with the younger guys and it's looking good for us. The guys are really expecting to win each and every game now. Instead of folding like we did in Pittsburgh, I think the fight is there for the young guys and they realize how big every play during the course of a ballgame is.

We had opportunity after opportunity. Even though we messed up in the first half, we came back in the second half and had a chance to win the ballgame.

It's very frustrating when you come out and you do 90 percent of the things right and 10 percent costs you the ballgame.

I think we dug a hole for ourselves early, a 17-0 (Raiders) lead. We came back to get within two and things just happen. The effort was there.

When Ben Troupe first came in here, we looked at him as a speedster. We wanted to isolate him on linebackers, isolate him on strong safeties. We're trying to build him up to be a Tony Gonzalez, a Todd Heap, the guys who are not only able to block as well as be able to catch the ball intermediate and also deep.

Once I got there, I made up my mind that it's not where you go, it's what you do when you get there. I went to Alcorn because they gave me a chance.

If Dyson would have taken it up 2 more yards vertically, he would have caught the ball and walked in. It was a 5-yard slant, Dyson cut it short by about 2 yards.

It's a great opportunity to be part of the Pro Bowl. Anytime you get a chance to compete against the best in the NFL, it is certainly something you look forward to.

I think the direction things are going in is great. I think they made a great decision to get Givens and we've gotten better on the defensive side of the ball with the new guys coming in.

We did some good things. We had a couple of turnovers, but that's to be expected early in the preseason. We don't think this is a rebuilding stage. We expect to go out and execute each week.

I needed to take that first hit. I didn't want to go the whole preseason without taking that first hit. It felt good to go out and compete.

You're going to have hiccups. But it's better to have them now than later.

Any time you have turnovers and can't get into a rhythm, that's a problem. I don't think we ever got into a rhythm in the first half. We were trying to push the ball down the field and it wasn't there, so we had to do a lot of check downs.
