I knew how she was going to play and I knew I had to be tough out there. Playing at home really helps. I was really solid out there. There were a few points that were really important that I got through.

She surprised me the way she played, taking the ball early and really going for her shots in the first set. But then, I think mentally I was really tough out there and I kept fighting all through the end, and that's kind of what got me through it.

I think it's actually good because I think it gives a little break to the umpires because you're not like screaming at them, and it makes you feel better, too.

The crowd was amazing and helped me out there, especially when I was down 5-1.

This is my first retirement and hopefully my last because you feel so bad, especially because you just want to keep playing.
